The Pop Guru / pop emperor / pop king of Bangladesh Azam Khan is no more with us at the age of 61. After battling as freedom fighter for Bangladesh’s liberation war battling his life against oral cancer for the last two weeks of death. He died 05-06-2011 at 10:20 pm in Dhaka’s Combined Military Hospital (CMH) Hospital where he has been shifted last Wednesday from Square hospital, Dhaka since March 27. The loss of Azam Khan is sad news for the people of Bangladesh and the void created by his death will be tough to fill up if ever possible. We express our condolences to the family and fan of Azam Khan .He may not be with us anymore but he’ll be with us always with his everlasting music in our heart.
President Zillur Rahman, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Leader of the Opposition Khaleda Zia expressed deep astound at his death.
The body of Azom Khan took to Shaheed Minar 06-06-2011 morning where people will show tribute to him.
He buried at Mirpur Martyred intellectual graveyard after his namaz-e-janaza at Baitul Mukarram National Mosque after Zohr prayers.
The lead singer has wife Shaheda Begum, two daughters, one son and a host of friends, admirers and fans to mourn his death. But we lost a great singer a freedom fighter. Is it reparable losing?
It's really a sad news. We have lost a pop legend.
